The local rules, procedures forms and customs of practice within California federal and state courts can be confusing to non-resident attorneys, so it is imperative for our colleagues in other states to retain local counsel in connection with any cases or issues that your client may have in California. Many California courts expressly require the retention of local counsel as a prerequisite for a non-resident attorney to appear. For example, the United States District Court for the Central District of California the submission of a pro hac vice application in requires the identification and designation of local counsel who is a member in good standing of the Bar and who maintains an office within the Central District.

The Law Offices of Craig Hubble has extensive experience serving as local counsel for non-resident colleagues on a wide range of litigation filed in or transferred to California federal and state courts, including commercial, intellectual property and civil litigation matters. While we are based in the Los Angeles area, our local counsel services extend throughout California.
